General information
The Cricket Club runs four teams with opportunities for everyone who is interested. There are two teams in the local Langbaurgh League playing on Saturdays from April to September. An evening team plays in the Northallerton area league on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is also a junior side.
The club has extended the pavilion recently to make it more suitable for all ages and genders. In 2018, solar panels were installed on the pavilion roof to supply electricity.
The Club offers the opportunity for everybody aged 5+ to play cricket!
All Stars Cricket for 5-8 year olds
Hambleton Junior League teams for 8-14 year olds
Mens (Aged 13+) teams in the Langbaurgh League & Northallerton & District Evening League
For details of fixtures and results go to www.eastharlseycc.co.uk or look at their Facebook page There is also a thriving Junior section who play regular fixtures.
There was no competitive cricket league played in 2020 due to the ongoing restrictions due to the pandemic of Covid19. In the 2017, 2018 and 2019 cricket seasons the East Harlsey First Team finished in 1st place in the Langbaurgh Cricket League Division 1. The Second Team finished in 6th place out of 12 teams of Division 2.
Congratulations to the First XI team who finished 2nd in the League in 2023.
The cricket field is 200m outside the village. And the playing area, outfield and surrounds are definitely the best in the district. As many villages don’t have a cricket team these days, players are drawn from about a 10 mile radius. There are outdoor nets at the cricket field. Indoor nets are organised in January/February/March. Junior coaching is also available.
Spectators are welcome to come down and watch Home games and come along and enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake! More information about the cricket club can be found at http://eastharlsey.play-cricket.com/
